My Accident with Cupcakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was making my second batch of cupcakes, by myself I might add, and I was reading the recipe and then a little word threw me for a loop. So I told my mom that I accidentally used baking powder instead of baking soda. Because my mom would not let me quintuple the recipe, I had to make biscuits instead of the chocolate cupcakes I was planning on.

After I made the biscuits I started over. I was doing just fine until it came to the cocoa. I had to open a new pack and I was pouring it into the 2/3 cup and then I dropped it and got cocoa all over!!!!!!!!!!! I quickly cleaned it up but my mom saw all of it in the garbage can. She did not yell at me, that dearest mother of mine, but she told me to be more careful next time and do not pour it in there, but scoop it up.

I eventually made those wonderful chocolate cupcakes and my, my they were delicious. HERE is that basic chocolate cupcake recipe. Tips: Use baking soda, not baking powder. Also, scoop the cocoa.

  2. I enjoyed reading your post. One time I messed up on ingredients with my cornbread. I tried to double the recipe, but it ended up not tasting very good. I'm glad your cupcakes turned out delicious.

  4. When I was your age, I enjoyed baking too, and can still remember my biggest disaster... I made a whole batch of pumpkin scones using salt instead of sugar - not edible at all!
Keep up the baking - it's lots of fun:)
